Applications for a stay abroad beginning in the fall usually open in January and February of the same year. If there are more applicants for a particular university than the number of exchange places available, previous academic achievements and language skills will be decisive. If necessary, a letter of motivation may be requested.    <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">The time and duration of the stay abroad should be chosen in such a way that the stay can be meaningfully integrated into the program of study in Mainz.
